There was a time when Internet revolutionized the whole shopping experience and now it’s back again when rapid expansion of mobile industry is morphing the retail industry. The explosive growth in mobile industry is mainly because of smartphone revolution and dynamic shift in the thought process of mobile users who have started realizing the great potential of mobile devices.

People have greater access to information with instant collaboration, interaction, data sharing and rich shopping experience through their mobile phones. Smartphone app market has become so volatile that hundreds of independent app stores are emerging on regular basis and developers are showing positive response to such stores due to already crowded traditional app stores from Apple or Google Android Marketplace.

This infographic, from Microsoft tag, showcases the current scenarios of Smartphone industry and Smartphone shoppers. It also contains few interesting findings which expose how retailers are still lagging behind when it comes to mobile establishment. For instance, 51% of smartphoen users are more likely to purchase from retailers with a mobile-specific site however only 4.8% of retailers have mobile version of their establishment.
