Taking the competition to the whole new level, Xiaomi has confirmed that soon the company would be launching a Smartphone with 100MP camera. A tweet by Manu Jain, CEO – Xiaomi India, reveals how the leading smartphone vendors in India has been disrupting the India smartphone market with flagship devices equipped with the powerful camera since the beginning of 2019.
Manu Jain also reveals that the company is all set to launch a new smartphone with 64MP camera soon, followed by the smartphone with 100MP camera.
It’s not yet clear by when Xiaomi would be launching both smartphones. However, considering the intensifying competition in the India smartphone market, it won’t be an exaggeration to say that smartphone with 100MP camera would be up for grab by the end of this year or latest by early next year.
2020 Is All About 100MP Camera Smartphone
Xiaomi is not the only company focused on disrupting the smartphone market. A Credit Suisse report released in March this year highlights how smartphone companies have planned to flood the market with 64MP Camera smartphones in 2H 2019. The report also addresses the demand of 100MP Camera smartphone in 2020 which looks quite considerable as Qualcomm has also hinted about the similar trends by the end of 2019.
While a smartphone with 100MP Camera is a distant reality yet, Xiaomi is the first company officially putting a word out. There are rumours that other companies, including Huawei, Samsung and Gionee, are also working on smartphones equipped with 100MP Camera sensor.
The meteoric rise of Xiaomi in India is no less than a surprise. Aggressive marketing strategy clubbed with jaw-dropping prices and hyperactive fan base has helped the company to claim the numero-uno position of the India smartphone market. The company currently accounts for 28% of the quarterly smartphone shipments in India, pushing the long-time market leader Samsung down to the second position.
