The mobile apps markets have tremendously grown up in the last couple of years. At present, majority of enterprises are focusing to deploy mobile apps and they are also aggressive to optimize their website for mobile devices to enhance their business. Businesses are typically using mobile devices for texting, social networking, instant messaging, emailing and phone calls. At present, one in every five mobile handsets’ purchase is a Smartphone. The scenario has been changed; sales of web-enabled mobile devices have surpassed sales of web-enabled laptops, notebook and desktop computers.

According to a survey (conducted a year back), companies (those had deployed mobile technology) used mobile devices (40%) for email purpose, while used 38%, 35%, 30% and 23% for mobile phone, texting, social networks and instant messaging respectively. 38% of businesses (respondents during survey period) polled that they are using mobile phones more than the prior year, while 43% are planning to incorporate more mobile devices in the future.

The survey also revealed that half of the corporate device would be mobile devices by 2015. The survey reported that North-American market for mobile office application will surge to $6.85 billion by 2015, up from $1.76 billion in 2010.

Why businesses use mobile apps?

The reason is quite clear from the stats of businesses those incorporated mobile apps. Incorporation of mobile apps boosted 42% productivity, reduced 39% paper work and increased 37% of the revenue till May of last year. Even small businesses have also deployed the mobile devices; according to them, use of mobile apps have saved 62% of their time, boosted 59% of productivity and saved 29% of cost. The global online app market is expected to grow about $25 billion by 2015 from $6.8 billion in 2010.
