Must Read

Micromax released its android based smartphone A85 or Superfone and bundled it with various exciting features to gain some share in android market. There are already plenty of android smartphones available in the market in the same price segment but the robust specification of Micromax A85 will definitely give a punch to its contenders. Micromax powered their latest smartphone with a Dual-Core 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor, 512 MB of RAM and ULP Geforce Graphics processing unit which is way ahead than its contenders like Samsung Galaxy S, LG Optimus Black, Motorola Droid etc which are having single core processors that too at the similar price category. After the launch of Superfone A85, the cut-throat competition in android based smartphone market will definitely be unleashed.

Micromax A85 has a 3.8″ capactive touchscreen supporting a resolution of 480×800 pixels though its missing the Gorilla glass feature. It’s bundled with 8 GB of internal storage and supports MicroSD card expandable up to 32 GB, which is sufficiently enough for installing high-end 3D games like Fifa12, Worms, Dead Space etc. Micromax Superfone is powered with 1 GHz Dual-Core Cortex A9 processor,512 MB RAM and ULP Geforce GPU , all embedded in Soc Tegra 2, which will provide gamers a vivid  gaming experience, smoother mobile operations, editing, blazing fast web surfing etc. Micromax A85 comes with 5 MP camera with features like Auto Focus, Geo-tagging and a front VGA camera for video calling. Micromax A85 is available in the market just for Rs. 18990 , which is reasonable for such type of configuration. The one of the most important feature of Micromax A85 is its hand gesture controls which is a must try feature.

But despite of all these mind boggling features, Micromax A85 has some drawbacks too. Micromax Superfone will be running on Android 2.2 Froyo instead of Gingerbread, lack of LED Flash, no Gorilla Glass display, 3.8″ touchscreen instead of average 4″ display etc. are some of the big drawbacks on its side. Though performance factor is big thumbs up for Micromax Superfone A85 that too at such a cheap price.

  1. The answer of this is – Yes and No. If you are non-technical Android user and your handset maker has not released the upgrade for your model, then you cant. The only way you can upgrade is by Rooting. Rooting is the way you can upgrade your smartphone software without handset manufacturer concern. But, this will void all warrantee of your handset.
