The company derives its operating revenue primarily from the sale of Products, sale of services, income from financial services and other operating revenue. The operating revenue excludes the quality claims, sales tax, service and luxury taxes, GST and trade discounts.
In FY 2018, Coffee Day Enterprises (CDEL) generated a record Rs 19,600.35 million in revenue from the sale of products. That’s nearly 15% YoY increase. The CDEL products revenue includes the revenue from the sale of coffee beans, food, beverages and other items, merchandise items and traded goods. It was the first time in FY 2012 when CDEL products revenue crossed Rs 10,612.05 million mark, annually.
Coffee Day Enterprises (CDEL) Service revenues recognized as the services that are performed during a particular fiscal year. The services revenue includes the income from integrated logistics services, Rental income from SEZ and IT parks, service income from coffee vending machines, income from operations of resorts, etc. In FY 2018, the CDEL services revenue increased a whopping 27.6% YoY to Rs 16,006.67 million. This was the highest-ever annual revenue generated from the sale of services by the company. In FY 2011, the company’s total revenue from services stood at only Rs 832.69 million.
Coffee Day Enterprises (CDEL) income from financial services in FY 2018 was Rs 5,695.21 million, representing 15% of the company’s total operating revenue. The CDEL financial services income include the trading income, brokerage income, transaction and delayed payment charges, etc. The Coffee Day witnessed a significant increase in its annual financial services income, increased from Rs 73.4 million in 2011 to Rs 2,304.43 million in 2015.

Later on June 20, 2008, it converted from a partnership firm to a private limited company, named as Coffee Day Holdings Company Private Limited. The management, however, decided to change the name of the company once again to Coffee Day Resorts Private Limited on January 25, 2010. Later, on January 21, 2015, the name of the company was changed to Coffee Day Enterprises Limited. The company raised Rs 1,150 crore through initial public offerings (IPO) launched in October 2015. The IPO got over-subscribed 1.81 times at price band of Rs 316-328 a share.
Coffee Day Enterprises Limited operates the coffee business through its subsidiary – Coffee Day Global Limited (Incorporated in 1993) – and its subsidiaries.
The company is well known for its flagship brand name ‘Cafe Coffee Day’ (CCD). The first Café Coffee Day (CCD) outlet opened on July 11, 1996, at Brigade Road in Bengaluru, India. Today, CCD is the largest retail café chain in India, with 1,722 café outlets in 245 cities across the country.
