In today’s digital world, developers have awesome opportunities like hackathons and coding contests to bag hefty cash rewards. One such shining opportunity is Alexa Developer Rewards Program introduced by the e-commerce major Amazon.com, Inc.(NASDAQ: AMNZ).

Amazon has expanded its Alexa Developer Rewards program to India. It is an open call to all developers who would produce competent interactive skills for Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant in India. Developers can earn money for employing their curative programming skills that would increase Alexa’s customer engagement. India Alexa Skills Store is the place where the developer should post and publish their works to earn monetary rewards.

The Alexa Developer Rewards program is currently available in four countries the US, UK, Japan, and Germany calling upon developers who build skills. Now, India is Fifth in the chain.

The program is an integrated initiative added along with the Alexa Developer Incentive Program, which would proffer developers with fascinating and revolving goodies like devices and perky swag, as Amazon stated in a recent press release on Tuesday.

Amazon’s developer-friendly environment in India

By the end of the year in 2017, Alexa made its mark in India with around 11,000 in-built skills. And not less than 2 months of time, the Alexa India skill store went live by adding more than 1,000 new skills to it. As per the strategic count in the last one and a half year of evolution, it has doubled its total engaging skills with in-skill purchasing (ISP).

“Since we introduced Alexa in India last year, thousands of developers have published informative and engaging skills on the India store. In just over a year, the number of skills available for customers has doubled from 10,000 to more than 20,000,” said Dilip R.S., Country Manager for Alexa Skills, Amazon India.

It is reported that this huge percentage of growth is due to the fact that the developer engagement flows from Amazon’s developer-friendly access in India. Amazon has over 40,000 developers on-board now in India. Thus making India as “one of the fastest growing developer bases for the company outside of the US.” And not just qualified and proficient developers, children as young as 13 are building skills for Alexa is quite surprising.

A path to access the Alexa Developer Rewards Program

Alexa skills are the source codes of defined functionalities. These skills would render highly engaging customer experiences to establish a higher frequency of earning the reward every month. Developers can walk through these criteria for harnessing their existing skill base and the best practices to forecast their Alexa skills and target more end users. The next step is, If at all a skill is qualified for the reward, its concerned developer will receive an email from the Alexa team. The email will stipulate the further steps for registration and payment account setup. Care should be taken that, developers should choose their country/region as India in their profile column of Amazon developer portal.

Below mentioned are eligible skill categories Amazon stipulates but not limited to build an engaging skill for Alexa, the Amazon’s Voice Assistant.
