Oppo has launched its new flagship, the Oppo R17 Pro, in India, yesterday! The smartphone, available in two colours – Emerald Green and Radiant Mist – is already gone live for pre-orders on Oppo’s official website. Interestingly, this is the very first time when the Chinese giant is bringing its premium R-series smartphones to India. However, the predecessor Oppo R17 is also making debut alongside of R17 Pro. So let’s have a look at the some of very impressive features & specs of the just-launched Oppo R17 Pro in India.

Oppo R17 Pro In India: Price, Features & Specs!

With Oppo R17 Pro, Oppo has finally joined the bandwagon to offer a smartphone with triple rear camera setup. It was Huawei who launched its revolutionary smartphone P20 Pro with triple rear cameras in late March 2018 and tasted the success as well. The Oppo R17 Pro sports a 12MP primary sensor having a smart aperture of f/1.5-f/2.4 and OIS (Optical Stabilizer Technology), and a 20MP secondary sensor (f/2.6 aperture), coupled with an LED flash. On the front, there is a 25MP AI Beauty Camera with f/2.0 aperture.

In terms of specifications, Oppo R17 Pro will be the first smartphone in India to feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset and Super VOOC fast charging technology.

With power 8GB RAM, 128 GB ROM and Snapdragon 710 chipset under the hood, the Oppo R17 Pro unleashes full-speed computing performance and clocks lightning-fast app launch time. The phone will be running the latest version of Oppo’s smart, efficient operating system, ColorOS 5.1, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 91.5% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to the water-drop like notch which was also seen on the Oppo F9 Pro. To make the device more durable Oppo R17 Pro sports the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which makes the device more adorable.

Price of Oppo R17 Pro India:

To stay competitive in the India smartphone market, Oppo has price tagged Oppo R17 Pro with Rs. 45,990/-. The device is already launched in China, at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 40,800) for the base 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant and CNY 4,299 (around Rs. 43,900) for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant.

Oppo has also launched Oppo R17 in India along with R17 Pro. To lure those customers who are price sensitive and don’t mind little compromise with the feature, Oppo R17 is available at Rs. 34,999/- in India.

With an 8% market share, Oppo is among the top 5 smartphone brands in India as of Q3 2018. Industry analysts are expecting Oppo R17 Pro to give a fierce competition to newly launched OnePlus 6T and Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) in India. For the last few quarters Oppo’s quarterly shipment share in India has been declining, hence It would be interesting to see if Oppo R17 and Oppo R17 Pro could help the company to strengthen its market presence in India.
