Google’s Android has covered a long way from 2008 – the year its was first introduced. From Android Cupcake to Ice Cream Sandwich , the smartphone OS has faced many leap and bounce in its way to dominance. There was time when Android failed to charm industry with its version 1.1, 1.5 and 1.6 due to intense competition from Apple’s iOS and RIM OS4. However, Google transformed its strategy with the launch of Android 2.1 – known as Eclair – which proved fatal for all competitors, especially for Apple in US market.
