Qualcomm Revenue by Quarter: FY Q1 1996 – Q3 2020

Surprisingly, the company reported a strong 49.2% YoY decline in its quarterly revenue during the third quarter of fiscal 2020, amounting to $4,893 million. The decline in revenue was primarily due to the huge decline in licensing revenue during the June quarter.

Interestingly, Qualcomm reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of $9,635 million during fiscal Q3 2019, with a strong 72% YoY growth. However, the revenue for the company decreased by $4,821 million in the following quarter, recording a plunge of 50.04% QoQ.

The $2 billion quarterly revenue mark was crossed by the firm in Q1 2007. Then in Q4 2008, the revenue figures for the company recorded a huge leap and surpassed the $3 billion milestone.

It is important to note that Qualcomm global revenue surpassed $5 billion mark for the first time in fiscal Q1 2013. The company recorded an appreciable 28.6% YoY in revenue, amounting to $6,018 million ($6 billion), worldwide.

In fiscal Q1 2015, Qualcomm quarterly revenue touched another new high; increased 7.2% YoY to $7,099 million, globally. However, from fiscal Q3 2015 onwards, there were 11 times when the company reported some year-over-year decline in its quarterly revenue. In fact, in Q3 2015, Q4 2015, Q1 2016 and Q2 2016, Qualcomm’s total revenue declined a notable 14.3% YoY, 18.47% YoY, 18.65% YoY and 19.48% YoY, respectively.
