About 3.1 million (3,137 thousand) units of devices were shipped during the quarter. HP Inc., Dell Technologies, Lenovo and Acer Group are the top companies currently dominating India’s PC market.

The PC market declined for the third consecutive quarter in Q1 2019, according to IDC. About 2.15 million units of PC devices were shipped during the quarter, representing a notable 8.3% YoY decline.

The overall decline in India’s PC market was due to the huge 26.5% YoY decline in India consumer PC market in Q1 2019. However, India’s commercial PC market saw a notable 7.3% YoY increase in its shipment, reached 1.35 million units.

The market leader Lenovo accounted for a whopping 28.5% share of the total PC devices shipped in India during Q3 2019. The company shipped 895 thousands of PC units, registering an impressive 55.4% YoY growth.

HP Inc. retained the second position in India’s PC market in Q3 2019, with a 26.4% shipment share. In the third quarter of 2019, HP shipped about 828 thousand units of PCs in the country, down from 832 thousand of units during the year-ago period.

Dell Technologies is the third-largest PC vendor in India, with 19.7% shipment share as of Q3 2019. About 617 thousand units of PCs were shipped by the company during the quarter, representing a 0.6% year-over-year decline.

Acer Group remained at the fourth spot in the India PC market in Q3 2019, with an 11.9% share. About 373 thousand units of personal computing devices were shipped during the quarter.

With 43.6% YoY growth, Asus recorded its highest ever PC shipments in India, mainly driven by strong growth in the online channel.
