Samsung Launches Galaxy Tablets in U.S.; India Rollout Expected by October

Samsung has decided to take Apple's iPad on its own turf for the launch of Galaxy Tab - a 7 inch touch screen tablet device which Samsung announced few weeks back. Samsung has cracked the deal with four carrier in U.S. to launch its much awaited "Galaxy Tab" tablet device during the upcoming holiday season.

After RIM (BlackBerry) Indian Govt. Twists Ears of Google & Skype

The controversy over the access to users' data, which has marked a big question mark on RIM (Blackberry) services, has got a new twist with the extended warning to Google Inc, Skype Technologies SA and few other service providers. Toughening its stand on Sunday, India Govt has issued an ultimatum to RIM (BlackBerry) to get in-lined with the security concerns and any other proposal would be unaccepted but to install server in India for tracking its messenger and enterprise mail service as the offer made by it to provide data from its Canada-based server could be detrimental to national security.

Smoking Kills Almost A Million Indians Per Year

According to a research which was published in the year 2008, smoking is killing nearly a million people a year in India, exacting a higher toll than previously thought, but allied problems are often different to those seen in the West. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows Indian smokers prefer traditional leaf-wrapped, hand-rolled "beedis" to manufactured filter brands, and are more likely to die of tuberculosis than cancer; and,they almost never quit.Smoking can cause enough damage to the lungs that the latent infection can no longer be contained, researchers said.As a result, tuberculosis is the most common cause of smoking-related deaths among Indian men. Also, smoking has a very harmful effect on the reproductive organs.

BlackBerry Services Will be Terminated in U.A.E. & Saudi Arabia

Keeping national security as prime concern, United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) has announced today that BlackBerry's Email, web browsing and chat services will be terminated inside the country very soon. Within hours of such announcement Saudi Arabia also has joined the row and declared the suspension of BlackBerry services in the country. Since India shares the same mindset with UAE & Saudi Arabia over BlackBerry's operational model, there are high chances for India to take similar action towards RIM ( BlackBerry).
