The two tech titans are increasingly clashing in areas such as smartphones and PC operating systems. The details Jobs provided about Apple's mobile ad service at the company's developers' conference on Monday hinted at a growing threat to one of Google's key business opportunities, analysts said.

iPhone 4 launch in India

Vodafone Essar announced that it will launch the Apple iPhone 4 in India. It is likely that the iPhone 4's India launch date will be sometime in late September when the phone is slated for release in 88 countries worldwide. Earlier versions of Apple's iPhone are officially available in India through Vodafone and Airtel.

It's safe to assume that the vast majority of those sales came from the U.S. market, as the iPad only just went on sale last weekend in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K. Apple didn't say how many iPads were sold internationally.
