Vodafone Essar announced that it will launch the Apple iPhone 4 in India. It is likely that the iPhone 4's India launch date will be sometime in late September when the phone is slated for release in 88 countries worldwide. Earlier versions of Apple's iPhone are officially available in India through Vodafone and Airtel.

Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs wowed a packed room on Monday with the new $ 199 "iPhone 4," which is a quarter slimmer than the current handset, with about double the picture quality; sports the in-house A4 processor or computing brain; and allows video chat.

The demand for news related to the next-generation iPhone is such that even errant parts of the device are making headlines. On Tuesday, a Portuguese iPhone blog became the latest site to post what are fairly believable images of what may be the iPhone Steve Jobs will reveal on June 7 at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference.

Apple said Monday that it has sold more than 2 million iPads since the device debuted April 3rd. It's safe to assume that the vast majority of those sales came from the U.S. market, as the iPad only just went on sale last weekend in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K. Apple didn't say how many iPads were sold internationally.
