According to the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is the ultimate law of the universe. Sokka Gakkai members believe that through the practice of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, one is able to reveal the state of Buddhahood in one's life, experienced as the natural development of joy, increased vitality, courage, wisdom and compassion. A much needed respite from modern day chaos not by shunning the material world but by courageously facing it.
