According to Counterpoint Research, the smartphone shipments through online channels in India reached their highest ever share of 46% during Q3 2019. The total online channel shipments grew a whopping 55%YoY in Q3 2019, primarily driven by Flipkart’s Big Billion and Amazon’s Great India festive season sale.

In Q3 2019, Flipkart continues to lead India’s online smartphone market with a 57% share, down 1% point from the previous quarter. Xiaomi and realme were the best-selling smartphone brands on Flipkart.
Stands at second, Amazon India grew an astonishing +75% YoY in Q3 2019, to capture 33% share within overall online channels. Xiaomi, Samsung and OnePlus were the best-selling smartphone brands on Amazon.in.
The market share of Mi in India’s online smartphone channels declined from 12% in Q2 2019 to 9% in Q3 2019. However, within smartphone brands, Xiaomi retained the top spot in the online channels, with a 38% share. The growth was primarily driven by the strong performance of Redmi 7A, Note 7 Pro and Note 7S models.
