Adobe employee headcount has increased significantly over the last 28 years – from a mere 1,317 in fiscal 1990 to over 21,000 in fiscal 2018. As observed from the graph, the total number of employees working for Adobe has constantly been increasing since 1996.

The fiscal year 2012 was the very first time when the number of Adobe employees worldwide exceeded 11,000 people. That’s an increase of 1,219 employees compared to fiscal 2011. In fiscal 2016, exactly after 36 years of founding, Adobe has grown to 15,000 employees working around the globe.

Prior to co-founding Adobe, Charles Geschke and John Warnock were working at Xerox‘s Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). At PARC, Geschke and Warnock, together invented a page description language (PDL), which provided a means to describe complex forms like typefaces electronically – called Interpress.
