Snapchat Daily Active Users by Region by Quarter

In Q4 2019, Snapchat global DAUs count reached 218 million, up from 186 million in Q4 2018. North America remains the biggest market for Snap Inc. in terms of revenue and daily active users of Snapchat app. As the graph shows, the number of Snapchat DAUs from North America, Europe, and Rest of the World has been increasing by each passing quarter.

As of fourth quarter ended December 2019, 86 million people are actively using Snapchat in North America, on a daily basis. That’s up from 7 million in Q4 2018, and 2 million in Q3 2019.

Between December 2018 and 2019, about 7 million new people from Europe (includes Russia and Turkey) started using the Snapchat app on a daily basis. As of Q4 2019, Snapchat has 67 million DAUs in Europe.

Meanwhile, the number of daily active Snapchat users from the rest of the world also increased from 47 million in Q4 2018 to 64 million in Q4 2019. About 3 million new users were added over the previous quarter.

Snapchat DAUs by Region: History

In Q4 2015, the number of Snapchat DAUs worldwide surpassed the 100-million mark for the first time. About 13 million new daily active users were added between July and December month, making the overall count to 107 million. Out of that, 48 million DAUs are from North America, while 34 million DAUs are from the Europe region.

North America registered its first 50 million daily active users of Snapchat in Q1 2016. With 42% YoY growth, the number of Snapchat users in the US increased to 54 million, from 38 million during the same period a year ago.

While the Snapchat users in Europe surpassed the 50-million mark for the first time in Q4 2016.
