Surprisingly, 2018 was the 7th consecutive year when the global PC market witnessed a year-over-year decline in its shipments.

Lenovo is currently dominating the global PC market with a 24.3% share as of December 2019. The company shipped 64.8 million (64,768 thousand) units of PCs during 2019, representing 8.2% YoY growth.

HP remained the world’s second-largest PC manufacturer, with a record-high of 62.9 million (62,908 thousand units to be specific) personal computing devices shipped in 2019. It was 2011 when HP’s PC shipments crossed 60 million units, worldwide.

With 17.5% share, Dell Inc remained the world’s third-largest PC vendors in terms of shipments and market share. Dell’s worldwide PC shipments grew 5.4% YoY in CY 2019, to 46.5 million units.

Apple and Acer Group captured 6.6% and 6.4% share in the worldwide PC market in 2019, respectively. The Cupertino giant registered a 2.2% year-over-year decline in its 2019 Mac PC shipments, globally. Both desktop and notebook shipments declined in the fourth quarter of 2019. In fact, due to the declining sales of its products, the company has even decided to stop revealing their sales figures from the first fiscal quarter ends Oct-Dec 2018

On the other hand, Acer Group’s PC shipments declined a notable 4.2% in Q4 2019 and 4.6% YoY in whole year 2019.
