India’s contribution to the company’s total revenue was just 8%. Surprisingly, Wipro’s revenue from India in 2018 declined by a notable 7.4% YoY, to Rs 43,099 million – the lowest in the last 10 years!
It was the first time in fiscal 2011 when Wipro’s India revenue reached an all-time high of Rs 67,904 million, contributed nearly 22% to the company’s total revenue. However, a year later in fiscal 2012, the revenue from India declined by a huge 30.7%, to just Rs 47,058 million.
In the last 18 years, Wipro’s annual revenue from India increased from Rs 12,244 million in fiscal 2000 to Rs 43,099 million in fiscal 2018, ended March 31.

Wipro claims to have 175,690 dedicated employees worldwide as of FY 2019. Out of which, 35.2% are women employees.
In 1990, Wipro formed a joint venture with GE Healthcare South Asia called “Wipro GE Medical Systems Limited”. This partnership was engaged in the research and development of advanced solutions to cater to patient and customer needs in healthcare.
