Wipro Revenue From America, by Year: 2000 – 2018

The above graph represents Wipro revenue from Americas, by year. In fiscal 2018, Wipro’s total revenue declined by 1.41% YoY to clock Rs 546,359 million, globally. Interestingly, nearly 52% of the company’s total revenue and over 53% of the company’s IT Services revenue came from the Americas (including the United States). Despite this, the total revenue from the Americas in 2018 declined by 2.5% YoY, to Rs 283,515 million. However, it is important to note that this was the first time in the last 18 years, when Wipro’s Americas revenue declined, annually. The “Global Economic Crisis” is the primary reason behind this declined revenue, as per Wipro’s 2018 Annual report.

If the economy in the Americas or Europe continues to be volatile or conditions in the global financial market deteriorate, pricing for our services may become less attractive and our clients located in these geographies may reduce or postpone their technology spending significantly.

In fiscal 2017, Wipro’s annual revenue from the Americas hit an all-time high of Rs 290,719 million, with 12.4% YoY increase. The region contributed approximately 55% to Wipro’s IT Services segment revenue in that year.

In the last 18 years, Wipro’s revenue from the Americas increased significantly – from Rs 6,522 million in fiscal 2000 to Rs 283,515 million in 2018.
