The above graph represents the growth of Facebook advertising revenue by region, from Q4 2010 to the most recent quarter. In Q4 2018, Facebook advertising revenue clocked over $16.6 billion, a significant 33.9% YoY growth. It is important to note that the US & Canada region is contributing the lion’s share to Facebook’s overall revenue every quarter. In Q4 2018, nearly half of Facebook’s quarterly revenue came from the US & Canada region, followed by Europe, APAC and Rest of the World.

Europe, despite the fact that it is smaller than Asia-Pacific in terms of user-base, brought in more revenue from Facebook’s advertising business. The region contributed $4.09 billion in Facebook’s ads revenue, compared to $2.7 billion by the Asia Pacific.

APAC, which houses over 40% of Facebook’s worldwide user base, contributed just 16.5% to the company’s total advertising revenue in Q4 2018.

Our advertising revenue is generated by displaying ad products on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and third-party affiliated websites or mobile applications, Facebook says.
