iPad Pro 2018: Apple Has Made It More Adorable For Users

Must Read

[UPDATED]: Apple has finally unveiled its much-awaited iPad Pro 2018 in two variants of 11-inch and 12.9-inch on 30 October 2018 in New York. Now after two weeks of its launch, the new Apple iPad Pro 2018 edition reportedly goes on sale in India starting today November 16, but only via offline stores. The 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro priced at Rs 71,900 and Rs 89,900 for the base model, respectively.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is all set to launch the iPad Pro later this year. There is a lot of excitement around it and the world is abuzz with rumours and speculations regarding the same. There have been various rumours since the end of 2017 itself. Now new reports by Japanese site Mac Otakara picked up by 9to5 Mac, suggest some changes that will have a significant impact on the design of iPad Pro lineup.

The report suggests that the next-generation iPad Pro, which set to launch in 2018, will have the thinner bezel, no headphone jack and apparently come with FaceID.

iPad Pro to Follow iPhone’s Suit

Apple is set to follow iPhone’s suit and do away with the headphone jack in the upcoming iPad Pro models as well. The rumours suggest that the 2018 iPad Pro models will ditch the 3.5-mm headphone jack. It seems as if Apple is highly convinced by the success of the latest models of iPhone, hence replicating the same design elements in the iPad lineup.

The iPads already support AirPods and wireless headphones, hence the reason for losing the headphone jack is obviously not the promotion of wireless features. The experts believe that Apple may have decided to give up the jack in efforts to accommodate a thinner screen.

Thinner Bezel For The Upcoming iPad Pro

The leak suggests that Apple is adamant to reduce the bezel size for the upcoming iPad Pro. To make it more lucrative the dimension of the iPad is supposed to be different from its predecessors. The 10.5-inch model is expected to have 247.5mm (height) x 178.7mm ( weight ) x 6mm ( thickness ) as compared to the earlier dimensions that were 250.6mm x 174.1mm x 6.1 mm.

The 12.9 inch model of iPad Pro is expected to have new dimensions, from 305.7 mm x 220.6 mm x 6.9 mm to 280mm (Height) x 215mm (Weight) x 6.4mm (Thickness). This is in efforts to reduce the overall size of the iPad while accommodating the same screen size, that is by reducing the bezel size.

Face ID Makes An Entry In The iPad Lineup

The new iPad is expected to house another new and exciting feature. The latest rumour suggests that Apple will be introducing Face ID in the upcoming iPad Pro as well. However, the Face ID feature won’t be supported in the landscape mode. This may cause a bit of inconvenience among the users as the iPad is mostly used in the landscape mode owing to most of its features such as the Smart Keyboard.

Besides, it is also expected that the Smart Connector will be moved to the bottom of the iPad closer to the Lightning Connector from the side, where it has been positioned until now. This is apparently in an attempt to make the vertical positioning of Face ID more popular. The smart keyboard is also expected to be changed from horizontal positioning to a vertical one.

Apple will apparently be making these changes in an attempt to make the users more comfortable with the vertical Face ID feature.

Some Other Design Changes

It is also being said that the upcoming iPad Pro will be similar to the iPhone SE in design albeit bigger in size with diamond cut edges. However, this feature seems like an inconvenience for the users as the iPad rests in the palms of the user’s hands owing to its big size and the sharp edge may not be comfortable.

The upcoming iPad is expected to make its first debut in the second week of September in the Apple annual fall event. Other devices that are expected to be launched in the same event are the three new much-awaited iPhones and the Apple Watch Series 4 smartwatch.
