The Mukesh Ambani led start-up Reliance Jio is keen at striking it rich in extremes of the media and entertainment business. Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd released a Press Release dated May 17, 2018, titled “Jio Announces Exclusive Partnership with Screenz to create India’s Largest Digital Engagement Platform” wherein it charters new growth avenues by providing real-time interactions.

Jio-Screenz Collaboration: Platform For Interactive Entertainment

Screenz has been a known platform for “entertainment-based interaction” which facilitates real-time interaction and is therefore used by broadcasters, globally. This partnership is the second brand engagement outline by Reliance Jio wherein last week, it introduced world’s first artificial intelligence-based platform, namely, JioInteract. The launch of JioInteract is an intuitive way for brands to engage with Jio’s 186.6 million subscriber base.

Jio-Screenz collaboration will increase brand engagement and provide advertising opportunities. With the sheer ability to create differentiated interactions, it’s facilitated by utilization of individual profiles of viewers when and where necessary. A potential game-changer, experts believe that it will redefine the conventional, laid-back way of advertising by providing dual-screen interactive experience.  In addition to that, this platform will help broadcasters to create engaging content.

What Does the Jio Screenz Platform Do?

  • Jio Screenz Platform facilitates real-time, two-way conversation between broadcasters and viewers in form of quizzes, polls and votes as part of shows.
  • It supports a user-friendly Content Management System (CMS) which helps broadcasters to create and launch interactive engagements.
  • This can be administered on any digital App using Software Developer’s Kit (SDK), again, with support on Android, iOS and Jio Kai-OS.
  • It supports efficient data reporting and hence, records continuous learning and feedback loop.
  • It is efficient in enabling audience targeted advertisement by creating unique user profiles. In addition to that, it also facilitates social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Jio’s Pursuit of Procuring an Upper Hand In the Telecom Sector; JioInteract

Launched on 4th of May, JioInteract lets you make video and audio calls to bot-powered celebrities. With an anticipation of upcoming features like video call centers, video catalogue, virtual showrooms, this service can also be a tool for promoting movies. Users can also share their video experience with others. Highly adaptable for varied content, it allows live, real-time interactions between broadcasters and viewers, keeping them engaged.

To kick-start, JioInteract’s Live Video Call service allowed all Jio and other smartphone subscribers to make a video call with Amitabh Bachchan anytime during the day, starting from May 4, 2018. Their was a questionnaire related to his upcoming movie and users could even book real-time movie tickets through the ticketing-partner, BookMyShow.

Jio Screenz, Jio Interact: Stepping-Stones Towards Being The 2nd Largest Telecom Industry

Jio’s revenue from operations was INR 7,128 crore with a net profit of INR 510 crore in Q4 FY 2017-18, ended in April 2018. The youngest telecom company is just 90 basis points away from becoming the second-largest. Since the advent of Jio, it has positioned itself as the game-changer in the Industry. In addition to the uncountable success stories it leaves, it won the “Best Mobile Operator Service for Consumers” award at the Global Mobile Awards 2018 at Mobile World Congress. Introduction of innovative ideas such as Jio Screenz or Jio Interact brings about revolutionary changes in the Indian digital space and propels India in Global leadership.
