On Wednesday, Apple released a statement that crushed the hopes of many who were expecting to buy iPhone 7 Plus once the first sales kicked off on Friday. Apple announced that the complete available inventory of iPhone 7 Plus and Jet Black variant of iPhone 7 is already allocated. It means all walk-in customers on Friday must expect only the Black, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold of iPhone 7 in the store. And, those who are very particular of their selection of iPhone 7 Plus or Jet Black variant of iPhone 7, must wait – at least for now.
But, that doesn’t mean you can’t book iPhone 7 Plus or Jet Black variant of iPhone 7. Of course, you can pre-book it online. However, you will have to wait to get hold of the new iPhone until backlog clears. On Apple’s website, currently, the wait time is 2-3 weeks. However, if you are not willing to compromise your choice of the Jet Black variant of iPhone 7, you will have to wait either for five to six weeks for iPhone 7 or until November in the case of iPhone 7 Plus.

Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores. During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers.
