Five Ways To Create Persuasive Content Title

Must Read

Have tried everything to make your title catchy but still not getting enough clicks and user attention?

First you must know that your title is more important than your content; Give higher priority to your title because it is only the weapon you can run for the users. The sole purpose of writing content is to have it read and also to share your valuable information. I’ll share a few ways to create awesome content titles that actually work to get noticed or rank-up.

You can use all together to make it more effective, like a buy 1 get 1 scheme. Here are five ways you must use to make your title best.

1 – Use Numbers with Humor or Surprise

Everyone knows the Magic of Numbers. But when it would be mixed with fun and humor it will become more powerful.

Here is a post on Business2community where Tim Washer is telling that “how to use humor in your content marketing?”

Have you ever seen any of brand’s ads listed the percent of discount? They always start with a number like – “Flat 50%, Up to 50%”. If you’d see these numbers then you’ll further read it for where and when. Am I right??

So next time when you are writing a title, play with the number like – Top 5, 10 Loving, 7 Funny etc.

Here are few examples of above number – “Five Delicious Ways to Have a Healthy Diet, 10 Loving Brain Games to Play in summer”

Bonus Tip – Don’t go with High Numbers. Because Human are lazy to read. J

2 – Be Straight and Simple

Time is everything! So why should we waste our potential reader time for understanding a tough title? Everyone likes to be simple and clean. So make title instantly to the topic of content you’re providing in the body.

Like in the above example we have added “Have a Healthy Diet” just after our numbers. Therefore, the reader would know that it is about having a healthy diet. If the reader would need it, he will click instantly.

3 – Run with the Time/Month/Year

As a user I don’t want to read something outdated and useless in current time. And I am sure you also don’t want this.

So think as a user and be with time. If you’re provided a guide, an offer etc use month or year in your title. For example, if you Google for portable vaporizer buyer’s guide 2015, you would see the top results come for below screened post. The reason for its ranking is updated information in the body and year in the title.

4 – Use Triggers – How, What, When, Why, Where

I use these words when I want to give something to the user. It could be any trigger but use relevant as per your niche and audience requirement.

For example – We have a blog post telling things to do when you’re hungry. So we could make a title like this “What to do when you’re too hungry?

Readers would definitely visit the content if he/she is actually hungry.

Here is an interesting article digging the reason behind Google chasing Apple Watch. You can have a look and get to know how to use the trigger words in your title and how does it make an effort on your content.

5 – Use Negative Words

Negative always get more attention. Using negative words like not, without, can’t, stop etc can make your title clicked many times than a normal title.

A reader who is looking to start a small business would be interested to read “tools to start a small business without breaking the Bank”.

Stop using a keyword rich title and implement above suggestions. Do practice for these techniques and one day you’ll see the huge audience in you blog.

There is a lot more you can add to your content titles to grasp the attention of readers. If you write any content, you wish more and more people to read that, it is only possible when you provide an awesome title for your content.
