What Is Google Inc. (GOOG) Trying To Do With Google Glass: The Device Would Be Helpful For Visually Impaired People !!

Must Read

At Google Inc. (GOOG), developers are currently working hard in order to add some more functionality to its Google Glass. Undoubtedly, Google Glass is now one of the most hyped projects from Google Inc. (GOOG). But many of us are still in dilemma what the searching giant really wants to do.  Of course, even an five-years old kid could easily say that the company like Google can’t work on an ordinary glass. Indeed, a significant number of Android enthusiasts have already started taking the project very seriously. However, we have already covered a lot of stuffs related to Google Glass over the past few months.

How Google Inc. (GOOG) Wants To Help You In Some Physical Activities

A new chapter related to ‘Google Glass’ began last week, when Google Inc. (GOOG) applied for a patent, describes a technology that would help the Glass to recognize and control various objects. Really, you might have started thinking about the patent. Google wants to patent the application, which could superimpose image with control interface, when the target object is recognized. The recognizable methodology would similar to the ‘face recognition’ on your laptop for security purpose.

For the visual identification, the application would require RFID, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and even QR codes. Here, you can take an example of a Garage door, which contains QR code. The code itself isn’t visible to the human eye, but can be read by the Google Glass. By generating infrared, the Glass could easily find the state of the door, whether it’s open or close. Using Google Glass, users could control number of activities such as opening and closing of door, turning light On and Off  and more. Here, don’t confuse with the concept that you will simply buy Google Glass, and you will be able to perform all these activities using it. Of course, for the functioning of these activities, you would need some sorts of hardware and software, those should be compatible with the Google Glass.

Imagine by yourself, when you reach to your garage, and the door of garage automatically opens. The same way when you leave the garage, the door is closed itself. Likewise, you fix QR codes with your refrigerator, and now the refrigerator is being recognized by the Google glass. Suppose, you want to search for your favorite food stuffs inside the refrigerator, whether it’s available or not, while watching TV or doing some other important works. Definitely that time, the Google Glass would be helpful for you. Look at the image, shows how Google Glass will work.

Google Glass Would Be Lucrative For Visually Impaired Person:

However, Google Inc. (GOOG) has already released its ‘Glass Project’ among the developer community earlier this year. But one of the most important features of the Glass application is ‘an augmented-reality visual layer of data’, which is meant for seeing purpose. The application would be helpful for the ‘visually impaired‘ people.

I’m not claiming that Google Glass will enable ‘visually impaired people’ to see, but it would help them to see through some audible means. The application would work like sonar, a positioning technology used in submarine, in determining the obstacles around the person. The  Glass app would try to identify objects and proximate through installed Android device camera.

Just go through with the video how the Google Glass would be lucrative for visually impaired persons:
