Google Rules Over Online Video Space: Users Spend 2000% More Time Than Facebook [Stats]

When it comes to searching for the information, Google is the top search engine in the world and also Google rules the online world of videos with the highest number of unique visitors.

Online video viewing via Google Sites:

According to comScore, watching videos via Google sites (YouTube) is the topmost source for online video viewing in July (for the U.S), with 157 million unique viewers. On average, a whopping 525 minutes were spent for watching videos by a user, which is equivalent to 8 hours 45 minutes (more than the average working hour for an employee).

There were over 184 million total internet audience, out of which over 85% were actively viewing videos via Google sites only.

Over 2000% More Time was spent by Google viewers than Facebook:

Next comes Facebook, with over 53 million unique online video viewers. On average, 21.7 minutes were spent for watching videos by a user via Facebook. That means, on average, a user spent over 2000% more time for viewing videos on YouTube compared to Facebook.

Following Facebook, there were 48.7 million unique viewers on Yahoo! sites, VEVO with 44.8 million unique viewers and Microsoft Sites with 42.7 million.

NDN comes 2nd with average time spent per user:

Thought there are only 35,129 unique viewers watching NDN, it comes 2nd after Google with 89.7 average time spent per user, which is more than the time spent on Yahoo, Facebook etc.

With over 9.6 billion total video ads viewed by America in July, Google sites accounted for the most video ads viewed with 1.5 billion ads, followed by Hulu with 1.2 billion ads, Adap.tv with 1.1 billion and SpotXchange Video Ad Marketplace with 1 billion.

Number of videos ads viewed via Hulu is high with only 8.6% reach of  the total U.S population as shown in the above figure. Also the time spent on video ads on Hulu with 521 minutes is way more than Google with only 166 video ad minutes. Moreover the frequency (ads per viewer) on Hulu is 46.4, which is the highest (see fig).
