Social networking is the latest trend adopted by majority of the common as well as the business professionals, especially in the mobile field. And also, cloud computing is going to change the way of storing data or information. And what if all these forces are mingled for the future benefit of the business and society?
Gartner says that the combination of forces – Social, Mobile Cloud and Information – is going to be the basis of the Technology in future.
While talking about social network, it is alone a combination of all these forces because social network functions based on the cloud deployment and is increasingly being used among the mobile users. Social network is a big profit for the business professionals as there is a scope of transfer of quality information, exponentially in a small period of time.
Chris Howard, managing vice president at Gartner says:
“Mobile devices are a platform for effective social networking and new ways of work. Social links people to their work and each other in new and unexpected ways. Cloud enables delivery of information and functionality to users and systems. These forces of the Nexus are intertwined to create a user-driven ecosystem of modern computing.”
Social media has always been a helping hand for the marketers and most of the marketers reserve less than 20% of their budget over social media. About 49.5% of the marketers in the U.S conserve between 1% – 10% for their marketing spending on Social Media.
Social networking acts as a catalyst for the business people, especially as the number of smartphone users are increasing globally. Each and every industry operating via mobiles are affected, whether it is a retailer, bank or sales organization etc.
Cloud is a concept which has almost become inevitable for the Social network and mobile sector, for the inflow of quality information. Whether you are uploading pictures on Facebook or operating an app to store/fetch information on mobile, Cloud system is the basic entity.
According to the ringcentral, 57% of the businesses rely on cloud service to power more than half of their business. With the rise in the mobile device adoption, 64% of the business owners feel that they could manage their entire company remotely in 2012. 67% of business people rely on document-sharing cloud applications like Dropbox, Box etc. Moreover, cloud system saves hardware costs and is easily available.
But with cloud, there are security problems. What if your highly confidential data is compromised? What if the cloud server goes down?
The combination of elements like social, mobile, cloud is going to be the future for the efficient flow of information online, benefiting the business professionals. However, still there are challenges pertaining to the security, reliability and interoperability that needs to be addressed in the cloud.
