Could Google Nexus Jeopardize Amazon’s Kindle Fire 2 Tablet’s Business?

Must Read

We have already discussed that users have tired with using black-and-white e-Readers and they are seeking for some other options rather than Kindle Fire Tablet. Recently, Amazon announced to launch color Kindle Fire later this year, besides, the company is also currently working on its 10-inch Tablet project. It’s expected that the demand of Amazon’s color Kindle Fire Tablet could reach to 14.7 million units shipments this year.

Citing to a reliable source, CNET has reportedly stated that Amazon could unveil a sequel of its Kindle Fire (named Kindle Fire 2) this summer and most probably on 31 July for a launch event. Recently, DigiTimes revealed that the new 7-inch kindle Fire Tablet would have screen display resolutions of 1280 X 800 pixels and it could be priced for $199. But, CNET has reported that it has no information about the resolutions of the device but the device will have camera and physical volume control button (users complained about on-screen volume control button). In addition to these, the device will be expected to have e-Ink Kindles with integrated lighting.

However, there’s no any information about Bluetooth (whether the new Tablet will have or not) and the type of processor (which is being used in the device).

On the other side, Google could launch its Nexus Tablet today. According to Gizmodo Australia, the device has been manufactured by the Google’s hardware partner “Asus”. The device will have latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) flavor, 1.3 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 Processor, GeForce 12-core graphics, front facing camera and 1 GB of RAM. The device will available in two different storage variants : 8 GB  (priced $199) and 16 GB (priced $249).  The device is expected to have screen display resolution of 1280 X 800 pixels.

It’s pretty clear that Amazon will try to launch a better equipped processor for its Kindle Fire 2 Tablet in order to contend Google Nexus and Nook Tablets. Indeed, the year (2012) is going to be a big for Tablet manufacturers. Recently, Microsoft has unveiled its Windows 8 based Surface Tablets (Surface for Windows RT and Surface for Windows 8 Pro). The company has designed the Tablet for businesses and professionals.

At WWDC, Apple has also promulgated a lot for its forthcoming mobile OS, which will have deep-integration of Facebook, Twitter and more apps. Undoubtedly, Apple is a veteran player in the Tablet era and it’s very tough for nascent players like Amazon, Barns & Noble and Microsoft to contend the company.

I don’t believe, Kindle Fire is an iPad Killer. The device has been launched to entice a significant number of users toward Amazon’s online retail store. However, the company is selling the device below to its break-even price. But, what should we expect from, Apple has decided to launch 7-inch Tablet, while on the other side, Amazon has decided to pull 10-inch Tablet later this year.

Google is going to launch the device starting from$199, which is exactly the same that of Amazon’s Kindle Fire. Now, we have to see, whether users are going to be more attracted towards Amazon’s integrated services or Google’s latest Jelly Bean. This time, Google Nexus seems more competitive than Amazon’s Kindle Fire in both aspects either it’s related to hardware or software.
