The 69th edition of 2012 “Golden Globes Awards” was held at the international Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday. The event was hosted by British comedian who had a few quips for the Hollywood elite as he got his third stint as Golden Globes host under way, but this time his remarks were less controversial than the he punched last year.

Twitter was a dominant social network for the Golden Globes; we tracked tweets containing #goldenglobes and it told about how users watch TV together on Twitter. Twitter traffic was off the charts with a peak of 6,162 Tweets per second.

The Moments which really connected with Twitter users according to the analysis made by Networked Insights are:

  • 62% of the conversation on Twitter was about winners
  • 48% of the conversation was about the Red Carpet
  • 12% was unexpected winners
  • 9% was about Gervais

Zooey Deschnel had the most re-tweeted post while she revealed about her Gown she was wearing and her specially painted nails. The second biggest spike of the night was the discussion of Tina Fey’s Photobomb of Amy Poehler.
