Must Read

Motorola has heated up the tablet market by officially announcing Xoom 2 as the successor to their globally acclaimed Tablet – Motorola Xoom. Motorola has announced two editions of this super tablet , Xoom 2 and Xoom 2 Media Edition. Both of these editions have same configuration and will run on Android OS v3.2 i.e Honeycomb. The only difference is in the size as Xoom 2 comes up with a crispy 10.1″ display whereas Xoom 2 Media Edition has a smaller but brilliant 8.2″ TFT Capacitive touchscreen. Motorola is apparently adopting aggressive measures to compete in smartphone and tablet worldwide market. Its RAZR smartphone is also creating a significant buzz in the industry. Here are few images of Motorola XOOM 2 below.

Motorola XOOM 2 is merely 8.8 mm thin and has a 10.1″ TFT Gorilla Glass display which supports an amazing resolution of 800×1280 pixels, which is crispy and sharp enough to beat a middle-range laptop’s screen resolution. It supports 3D Virtual Surround Sound and is powered with 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor with 1 GB of RAM – high enough for much smoother mobile operations like multi-tasking,web surfing, image editing etc. One of the interesting fact about XOOM 2 is the ULP GeForce GPU integrated within it to make it powerful enough to run any 3D game available in the tablet market.

The embedded Tegra 2 T20 chipset adds up the advantage. This new tablet from Motorola has a 5 MP rear camera with Auto-focus and LED Flash, capable of video recording at [email protected] fps. A 1.3 MP front camera is also given in the tablet. Motorola XOOM 2 features 16 GB internal memory and a MicroSD card slot which is expandable to 32 GB. Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition also has sub-woofer and surround sound audio system.

Still there is no confirmation from Motorola about exact launch date but we can assume to get our hands on it by the end of the November 2011.
