Yahoo is trying its level best to save it sovereignty in online media market. Few months earlier company had fired it CEO Carol Bartz, since she was unable to boost up the market condition. Company – once the pioneer of digital media market – has been downgraded from its position in past few years. Speculations are being made that company is up for sale but it doesn’t look alike. Rather, it is concentrating on its media arm to uprise from its recent economic condition. Today company has announced the tie-up with ABC news to provide media news as well as live coverage of New York news.

Both companies have already work together in past as they have an agreement of video-sharing since 2005.

It will be good news for Yahoo users that they will get the web videos as well as stories. In the deal it has been mentioned that both the companies will reach 100 million users’ monthly and will redistribute contents including GoodMorningAmerica.com (which is now on Yahoo).

Yahoo is going through rough patches these days as revenue falls from $7,208.50 in 2007 to $4,431 in current year. As well as, market valuation of the company also been decreased from $44.6 billion (price which was offered by Microsoft to Acquire Yahoo) to $17.4 billion in present year.

Yahoo and ABC news will introduce original web video programming which comprises of Newsmakers, Around the World with Christiane Amanpour and This Could Be Big.

It will be good news for Yahoo as well as ABC news employees that both companies editorial team will collaborate and provide the most happening and breaking news on both websites.

Both companies’ news team will also provide live coverage of events which will take place in New York, Washington D.C and Los Angeles, scheduled for broadcast through Yahoo online sites. With this new collaboration Yahoo has been benefited from all sides. It share price rose by 4 percent, got a video interview of Barack Obama with ABC news as well as investors have also welcomed this deal.
