MySpace Has Not Given Up Yet; Plans For New Design Next Month

Must Read

It seems like still a ray of hope is left for MySpace. Though, earlier decade media giant and one time famous MySpace has called off the summer press event where the company was suppose to launch new edition of music-oriented site, the next month has been targeted for re-launch of the same.

The company, once the heartbeat of people, was declined with the arrival of Facebook. In last decade, MySpace was known as a social sharing site but after surrendering to Facebook it has transformed itself into a site for music listeners only as an effort of survival.

MySpace was suppose to launch this event in order to show criticizers and to give competition to its old rival Facebook – expected to launch its music platform at F8 developers’ meet in San Francisco on Thursday.

In August MySpace attracted 33 million users to its site – declined by 44 percent as compare with the same period of earlier year, according to comScore.

Earlier in June, MySpace was sold by its parent company News Corp. to Specific Media for mere $35 million. Later Specific media announced a partnership with singing Icon Justin Timberlake. Specific media is a California based company that was founded by brothers Tim, Chris and Russell Vanderhook in 1999.

In newly developed scenario, MySpace is planning to reveal new designed music edition at Advertising Week in New York next month, which will accompanied by a music concert hosted by music Icon Justin Timberlake and others.

Now let’s see whether MySpace new edition of site will tend Facebook to have the same medicine which Facebook gave to MySpace few years back?

It was just yesterday when Facebook announced new media platform for all users with the help of Spotify and Rhaposdy which is expected to utterly kill MySpace. However, it would be interesting see if MySpace can thereat Facebook with the same medicine which it tasted few years back.
