Samsung Launched BADA 2.0, Redefined Mobile Experience

On account of Google’s strategic interest on Motorola, today Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. revealed company’s aggressive strategy over Software sector by announcing BADA 2.0 SDK (Software Development Kit). Being a leading mobile phone manufacturer and highly reputed electronics company, Samsung is concentrating over the mobile OS market and trying to minimize its dependence over Google as Samsung’s huge range of smartphones are using Android OS platform.

Samsung decided to enhance their own Mobile OS ( BADA) due to the magnificent success of WAVE Series smartphones in Europe,China and South East Asia. These smartphones made a remarkable impact on customers because of performance, simpler MMI and touch interface.“Samsung bada and our Wave devices continue to succeed around the world, taking advantage of the mobile technology and brand awareness of Samsung’s leadership in the market,” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business. “We have brought together our key mobile innovations in bada 2.0, setting the foundation for it to become a leading mobile platform.”

Shin added,“bada is a significant innovation and a key component in Samsung’s multi-platform strategy; we are committed to investing in its success. We are expanding our developer community and creating a strong ecosystem that benefits both developers and end-users. Developers have an opportunity to reach a significant customer base with new, entertaining and compelling applications while consumers will receive an outstanding smartphone experience.”

BADA 2.0 supports multi-tasking, Wi-Fi Direct, Near Field Communication (NFC) and voice recognition. It will give users an enhanced web experience because OS supports HTML 5 and latest Flash features. Even Developers will be benefitted because of its support for WAC 2.0 and Ads API. Lets see this new avatar of BADA OS will make a mark on customers or not.
