There is no doubt that Google’s Android is going head-to-head with Apple’s iOS in many aspects. According to latest tweet from Android head Andy Rubin, Company is activating 500,000 Android devices every day and company is recording 4.4% growth with each passing week in Android activation rate.
This is undoubtedly a significant number; half a million Android devices every day. If we try to put our small brain on tiny calculation with claimed growth rate, there would be more than 9.5 million Android handsets would be activated by end of this year. And, that inherits the success story of Android in its own.
In mid-May, company had confirmed 400,000 devices activation every day and such a big leap in just one and a half month is really commendable. During the same time it was also reported that Google achieved the much anticipated milestone of 100 million devices activation.
Earlier this month, Apple went on record stating total 200 million devices activation. This figure was including the iPad iOS activations which accounted 25 million alone.
Interestingly, a recent study has discounted the Apple’s iOS market share in next four years. Study claims that Android iOS will lag behind Android and Windows Phone 7 OS by 2015 in overall mobile OS market share.
