So, It’s has been confirmed that Skype is coming out with its iPad version quite soon – probably next week. After a leaked video accidentally emerged over web, Skype has officially stamped that company is developing an iPad app. Though, TUAW, which spoken with Skype VP of product and consumer design Rich Osterloh, has not yet confirmed any definite date for such release but if we believe on few speculation floating on the web, Skype is gearing up for next week launch of Skype app for iPad.

There is also fair amount of support in such speculations as the leaked video is fairly impressive and showcases almost a ready product. Therefore, it’s a matter of Apple’s approval to grant a place in app store which should not take much time. The upcoming iPad version of Skype has been designed and developed in well inspiring manner; its takes full advantage of large screen of iPad, allowing users to make audio and video calls, and use text-based chat, as well as allowing users to engage in multi-tasking through chat via text while on a video call.

The iPad 2′s camera is the primary driving force behind the company’s decision to release an iPad-specific version of its iOS app, Osterloh said.

Skype for iPad can make use of both of the iPad2’s camera and also appears to support calling out to landlines and mobile phones, just like other mobile and desktop clients. However, this feature can be little dubious with Apple but ultimately Apple is the supreme judge.

File sharing feature is not available with Skype-iPad app – probably because of iPad’s lack of user-accessible file system capability. Also, at this point of time, we are not year clear whether group video chat facility will be included in this roll-out of iPad app.

Though, it’s a great start for Skype and iPad users who can now have enhance usability of their iPad with the help of Skype. For those who are disappointed with some of the features that are may not be included in this roll-out, next update may cherish you all.

Overall, Apple seems to be going bullish with iPad in future. The latest information about the iPad 3 and the availability of Facebook and Skype will help iPad to improvise its market share.
