For last couple of months, when I bought my first iPad, the one thing which came to me as biggest surprise – absence of Facebook App on Apple’s revolutionary iPad. An extensive research and much ‘Googleing’ only made me to learn that, unlike iPhone, Facebook never made an effort to launch any official app for iPads. But no more frustration as I have just discovered that Facebook is almost ready to release its long-overdue iPad application, as reported by New York Times.
It’s been more than a year when Tablets started revolutionize the whole ecosystem of mobile devices. Apple leads the way and has set an example of other manufacturers in Tablet space. Today, almost every global product is either on iPad or making an effort to be on it only to strengthen its market position through iPad users.
However, the biggest social networking giant Facebook, with 700 million users, neither released nor indicated any sign to launch iPad version of Facebook. Apple’s iPad, which dominates in Tablet segment with 25 million sale and accounts 99.8% of Tablet market in enterprise user segment, is widely used mobile device (other than mobile phones) among users.
Till now iPad users, like me, were forced to use the iPhone version of Facebook which looks absurd and discouraging. The upcoming iPad version of Facebook will surely charm millions of Facebook and iPad users as company has been heavily investment in development of iPad app for an year, confirmed by sources of NYTimes.
Interestingly, Mark Zuckerberg has taken personal interest and initiative to finalize the UI and features of application which has made it much attractive and responsive. “The photo and video experience is amazing, offering full resolution and full-screen images,” said a person who has seen the app
In the presence of many third-party application who have taken the advantage of Facebook’s iPad absence, it would be interesting to see what comes out from Mark’s social factory this time to woo iPad users – especially when he too personal interesting in the project.
