Hands On with LG Optimus 2X – First Dual Core Mobile [VIDEO]

Finally the much anticipated Android smartphone, world’s first ever mobile loaded with high performer dual core processor, is out. LG has put the Optimus 2X on sales performance by releasing it in South Korea. Though, the performance rate card was already out in bits and pieces, there was no concrete performance analysis ever done before as single product – untill now.

Yesterday, Androidcentral has managed to hold an Optimus 2X for an early review and the first impression – from design, look and feel – is very impressive. At 4.48 inches tall and just 0.3 inches thick, Optimus 2X gives a really shiny feel. Though, the current version of 2X is running on Froyo (Android 2.2) – NO GINGERBREAD YET – but we can assure that with such configuration there is absolutely no reason to avoid the latest version of Android 2.3. LG is expected to come out with Gingerbread upgrade by end of March or early next quarter.

The 4 inch touchscreen with 480×800 pixel really rocks. The front side of the phone does not leave any place for manual buttons and completely driven by touch functionality. The 8 megapixel camera with HD recording facility makes the phone an awesome piece of device to capture memorable moments. We have showcased the sample of video recording capability of LG Optimus 2x few days back, which has really surprised many people.

A strong 1500mAh battery provides a substantial backup for such mammoth screen and phone. However, the real backup need to be tested after activating most of the features like internet, real-time-sync etc besides using calls, sms and camera functionality.

The bottom bezel houses the microUSB port and dual speakers. Up top is the power button, HDMI-out port (with a nice little cover) and the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Whatever, the biggest attraction of the device remains intact – Dual Core Processor. Here we present an ‘entry level’ video review of LG Optimus 2X for all of our esteemed readers.

What’s more, here is a benchmarking video of LG Optimus 2X which, I am sure, will certainly surprise you while comparing to other android phones benchmark results:
