Ice Cream Sandwitch – Next Cooler Version of Google’s Android Revealed

Must Read

Just after few weeks of discloser of Google’s latest version of Android, people have started predicting about the next move of company in Android space. Though, Google kept everyone guessing, based on the previous trend of name selection, sources had confirmed that company has already started working on the next version of Android to upscale the feasibility and enhancement.

As per Google’s previous trend of name section of various flavors of Android, the codenames Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, and Gingerbread are already through for mobile. Also, Honeycomb was announced for tablets, but what’s next?

Everyone has been assuming that the next version of Android will be “Ice Cream”, but that could lead to confusion with “Frozen Yogurt”.

Luckily, Google’s Andy Rubin cleared everything up when talking with TechCrunch. Apparently the next version of Android will be called “Ice Cream Sandwich”, not simply “Ice Cream”. We still don’t know what version number will accompany this build of Android exactly, but some are guessing that it will be either 2.4 (the smartphone version following Gingerbread’s 2.3), or 3.1 (following Honeycomb’s 3.0 version number).

Interestingly, the expectations from next version of Android are already on the flow while the rollout of Android 2.3 and 3.1 are still nurturing. Are Android users becoming more demanding or its Google which is trying to replicate the charm of Windows in mobile industry by making the people demanding – An interesting analysis for me to work for !
