What to Expect From Android 3.0 Honeycomb – Google’s Live Demo

Must Read

Google seems to be much bullish with ‘only-for-tablet’ version of Android 3.0 – Honeycomb. Just after a day of releasing a preview of Honeycomb, Google made a surprise appearance at Verizon’s CES 2011 keynote on Thursday and it turned out to be the hit of the event. Google provided a 10-minute live demo of Android 3.0 Honeycomb in action, running on the Motorola Xoom tablet.

However, this sneak preview has got few missing corners which contains a brief video call over Google Talks and an abrupt closing. Compare to yesterday’s 90 seconds video that Google released on YouTube yesterday, this demo is much more enhanced, longer and impromptu which exposes few interesting inherited features of Honeycomb.

In this demo, Google actually explains the UI, talks about some of its design decisions, shows how to navigate the tablet interface, and shows off a few of the new tablet-optimized apps.
