Facebook for Masses but Twitter Holds Classes – An Amazing Social Demography

The year 2010 is clearly dominated by Social Media and mobile industry. While Social Media was hot favorite to discussion & invest due to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, Android & iPhone 4 kept the excitement and expectations of people at the peak. Now, since the year has come to an end with mere few days left to the last moments, various industry analyst firms are busy operating the overall achievement of industry titans.

In the same row, an interesting infographic has been charted out by a research firm DigitalSurgeons, showcasing a breakdown of 2010 social demographic on Facebook and Twitter. I am not going to redraw the figures in words here, as you can very well understand and analyze such parameters from below comparison visual, few hidden but interesting aspects need special attention.

Tough, Facebook manages five folds more users compare to Twitter, various analyzed areas like users outside U.S. and Gender are almost identical. However, despite of much bigger market stake, Facebook lags behind of Twitter in “brand-to-business” aspect. Twitter followers, apparently, are much more convinced with the brands and transform their confidence for brands into sales in better margin compare to Facebook brand followers.
