It’s that time of the year again; the launch of iPhone 2018 is apparently around the corner. Apple Inc. (NASDA:AAPL) is due to launch yet another new variant of its iPhone and, like every other year, people just can’t seem to stop talking about it. Rumours have been going around for a while now regarding the date of the launch of iPhone 2018 and the specifications of the models to be exhibited. And at long last, we seem to have gotten an answer to at least one of our questions; Apple is said to have finalised September 12, 2018, as the date for the coveted launch.

September 12 looks like the date reported by not one but most news outlets in the world. Most of the speculation created around this date is because it satisfies a lot of conditions if it is chosen. It is a well-known fact that Apple chooses the month of September for the unveiling of most of its devices. To provide more evidence regarding the authenticity of the of the above-rumoured date, we need to look no further than last year’s iPhone launch. Three iPhones were launched on the 12th of September last year. Coincidence? I think not! There are a couple of other reasons why any other date in the vicinity might not be feasible; with the dark history behind the 11th of September and the fact that 13th of September is Labour’s day, hence a holiday.
All in all, it is all but confirmed that the device(s?) will be launched on the above-rumoured date. An official statement from the Cupertino giant will just be serving as a formality.
iPhone 2018: What We Know Till Now
Last year, Apple turned a lot of heads left a lot of people in amazement with the features introduced in its iPhone X, even though the first trail of its Face ID featured was an embarrassing failure. Because of their performance last year, people naturally have high expectations this time around. Although speculations have been strife, we do know a couple of things about the devices to be released.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Apple was planning to include the dual sim feature in its upcoming smartphones, something which had been linked to Apple since 2016. In the month of July this year, it was reported that Apple was planning to do away with the conventional SIM card and SIM tray, much like it did with the headphone jack. Instead, the Tech behemoth is alleged to replace it with an embedded eSIM chip. There have also been reports that one of the features rumoured to be included in their new iPhones is that of fast charging.
Other than the three iPhones rumoured to be launched at this year’s event, there are going to be announcements regarding other products as well. Series 4 models of the Apple watch, along with news regarding the Airpods and Airpower will have announcements made regarding them at the event.
This has been a good year for Apple so far. Earlier this month, the Cupertino giant became the first public company in the world to achieve the massive valuation of $1 trillion. A successful launch event might just signal towards a perfect end to the year for Tim Cook and Co.
