A whopping 98.4% of Facebook’s total revenue in Q4 2019 came from its Advertising business. Facebook advertising revenue in Q4 2019 hit an all-time high of $20,736 million, worldwide. Interestingly, the US & Canada region has been contributing the lion’s share to Facebook’s overall revenue every quarter.

In Q4 2019, nearly half of Facebook’s quarterly revenue came from the US & Canada region, followed by Europe, APAC and Rest of the World.

Facebook advertising revenue from the US & Canada region increased an impressive 21.5% YoY in Q4 2019, to a record-high of $10,021million.

Facebook ad revenue from Europe in Q4 2019 surpassed $5,071 million for the first time, contributing 24.5% of the company’s total revenue. In terms of ad revenue growth, Europe recorded a strong 24% YoY growth.

Facebook ad revenue from APAC also increased an impressive 32.8% year-over-year in Q4 2019. The company generated its highest-ever ad revenue from APAC region i.e $3,642 million.

In Q4 2019, Facebook ad revenue from Rest of World surpassed $2 billion or $2,002 million for the first time in history, with an appreciable 27.9% YoY growth.

Facebook Advertising Revenue by Region: History

In Q4 2018, Facebook advertising revenue clocked $16,640 million ($16.6 billion)! That was a significant 33.9% YoY growth. In fact, Facebook’s ad revenue from the US & Canada, and from Europe also hit a new record in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Europe, despite the fact that it is smaller than Asia-Pacific in terms of user-base, brought in more revenue from Facebook’s advertising business. The region contributed $4.09 billion in Facebook’s ads revenue, compared to $2.7 billion by the Asia Pacific. APAC, which houses over 40% of Facebook’s worldwide user base, contributed just 16.5% to the company’s total advertising revenue in Q4 2018.
