LinkedIn Is 3X More Effective Than Facebook But Still Trails Behind In B2B Social Media Usage

B2B companies are now turning more aware of Social Media and planning to use it properly in future by generating brand awareness, demand generation, better understanding of market perception, to score leads through social activities/demographics and broaden the reach. B2B marketers are enhancing their social media marketing strategy to drive more customers towards their brand and Facebook is leading their efforts as 80% companies are leverage over it followed by Twitter and LinkedIn with 78% and 51% respectively.

Interestingly, 64% of companies use social media for brand promotion and as an effectively engaging marketing strategy but still companies don’t understand properly how to leverage on social media and make a plan for their company on social networking sites. On the other hand, PR/Communications very actively participate on social media and manage it, 26% of social media is managed by PR department. Shockingly, 43% of the companies don’t have any proper strategy or plan on social media and 18% don’t have proper tools to make best use of social media for marketing.

I guess it’s about the maturity of a marketing team that will determine how they use social media and for which disciplines.
