Internet has become an integral part of everyone’s life; it has more than 2.5 Billion users now and 70% of them use it every day. Since 2000 Internet has shown remarkable growth of 566%. The latest Global Internet Statistics reveal that 37.3% of World’s population is connected to Internet. Among all the 7 continents North America leads by 78.6% followed by Australia 67.6%, Europe 63.2%, Caribbean 42.9%, Middle East 40.2%, Asia 27.5% and Africa 15.6% in usage of Internet.

While digging more inside internet statistics English is the most used language on Internet having maximum users of 536.6 million around the world followed by Chinese 444.9 million, Spanish with 153.3 million, Japanese 99.1 million and Portuguese 82.5 million. The top 10 languages on Internet are utilized by 82.2% of all internet users.

8 new people start using internet every second. Top 3 web browsers are Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox with 37.1%, 29.8% and 21.3% respectively. The use of mobile devices to access the internet has increased from 0.7% in 2009 to 8.5% in 2012. 38% of media interactions each day are on Smartphones. Apple is the most popular mobile Internet vendor accounting for 25.9% of mobile web use.

Social networking users spend an average of 3.2 hours each day on social networking sites. Facebook alone has 1000 million users followed by Twitter with 800 million. Around 175 million tweets are sent on Twitter and 133 million hours of videos are watched on YouTube every day.
