HITMAN ABSOLUTION: Agent 47 Is Coming Back In 2012 [VIDEO]

I-O Interactive, venture of Square Enix Europe has confirmed the fifth sequel to its HITMAN SERIES. They will be launching HITMAN V as HITMAN ABSOLUTION in next year around June 2012. This game will be available for Microsoft xbox 360,PlayStaion 3 and Windows PC. HITMAN has been a multi-million selling gaming title which gamers love for its stealth gameplay. HITMAN ABSOLUTION will be using a new game engine ‘GLACIER 2’ featuring amazing life like graphics, highly detailed visual effects, new moves with better animation and much more.

Glacier 2TM technology is IO Interactive’s new game engine on which HITMAN ABSOLUTION is built upon. HITMAN V gamers will witness highly original game design, amazing cinematic Story, unique art design. It will have a touch of both classic gameplay and completely new gameplay features.

In a press release in COPENHAGEN (May 11, 2011) IO Interactive confirmed HITMAN V and described it as : ‘HITMAN ABSOLUTION follows Agent 47®, a cold blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he trusted and hunted by the police, he finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for the truth.’

“For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the HITMAN® fantasy,” said Tore Blystad, game director, IO Interactive. “This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience to any of the other Hitman games, something our silent assassins will relish as well as those who are new to the Hitman world.”

The Game will be showcased only at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Califorina from June 7-9

When first title of this HITMAN series was released as HITMAN : CODENAME 47 in year 2000, it gave gamers a new way of playing third person shooter games which was stealth based assasination. The game was not like other ruthless shooter games in which objective was just to kill objects and run like a fool. HITMAN was different, he was silent, smart and dangerous. The core objective in each level is to kill assigned targets (usually multiple and sometimes additional targets as an optional bonus).

 In most cases, ‘Hitman’ allows the player different options to accomplish this task. Players can perform precise assassinations or slaughter indiscriminately in order to achieve the mission goals; however, the games reward a subtle approach by awarding special weapons or cash bonuses if players earn a favourable rank (usually achievable by eliminating only the assigned target, and without raising the alarm doing so). 47 can also wear a variety of disguises (such as repairmen, police officers and waiters) to fool enemies and gain access to restricted areas.

The focus of ‘Hitman’ is not hiding in the shadows from the enemy, but rather blending in amongst them. It is up to the player to initiate the violence, since guards do not usually open fire unless provoked. HITMAN Saga continued with Hitman 2: Silent Assassin released in 2002, Hitman: Contracts released in 2004, Hitman: Blood Money released in 2006,  Hitman: Absolution due for release in 2012. Gamers may have their hands on this game on June 2012. The question is that though the snapshots of the latest title look impressive and the trailer too looks adrenalizing but will it quench the thirst of gamers for the stealth action. Graphics and gameplay showcased in snaps and trailers are good but violence shown in trailer irrespective of its stealth gameplay is a big question mark for gamers because going away from the track can make gamers unsatisfied. Lets see what IO INTERACTIVE, EIDOS and SQUARE ENIX are upto with their new gameing engine technology ‘GLACIER 2tm’, FINGERS CROSSED.
