Waiting for Nokia’s N8 – You Need to Control Your Excitement Little Longer [RUMOURS]

Must Read

If you are among those who are eagerly waiting to have hands on experience on Nokia’s much awaited flagship N8 smartphone, surely the news is not good for you. Nokia has decide to delay the start of sales of N8 second time in a row. On Tuesday company has rescheduled the launch of N8 by October due to “some final amends”.

The N8 is seen by analyst as Nokia’s latest and most enhanced bet in Smartphone market specially to challenge Samsung’s GalaxyS and Apple’s iPhone. The new N8 has been loaded with latest Symbian family and many more interesting features. The success of N8 is very crucial for the company to remain in profit and to stamp its dominance in the mobile handset market.

However, many analyst don’t see company’s move in a positive manner. “This is really embarrassing” said John Strand, chief executive of Danish telecoms consultancy Strand Consult. After such wonderful execution of Nokia World, such announcement can’t be taken on a positive note, few analyst said.

Nokia’s said “The amount of preorders has exceeded our expectations and we are working hard to deliver the Nokia N8 to the market. In some markets, we had planned to start delivering the Nokia N8s to our pre-order customers by the end of September. To ensure a great user experience, we have decided to hold the shipments for a few weeks to do some final amends. We’re thrilled with the response that we’ve had to the Nokia N8 and assure everyone who’ve pre-ordered it already that it’ll be worth the wait! We expect consumers to get their Nokia N8s during October.”

In April, Nokia warned that the software renewal would take longer than it had expected due to quality problems and said that the N8 would reach consumers by the end of September. Company’s weak performance in smartphone market has already called the replacement of its Chief Executive Officer. The new leader Mr. Stephen Elop, an ex Microsoft employee, is all set to control the company from Tuesday. Surely such announcement is not a great way to start for him.

Recently company also showcased another upcoming business smartphone E7 which also seems to be very promising to the customers by its features and technology. Company is also witnessing strong demand of N8 from the day it has been introduced. That may be one of the main reason behind delay as company has no bandwidth to afford any setback at this time against other competitors who are riding high with the success of their smartphones sales.

Delay is acceptable as far as company live with the expectations of the customers. Now its all depends on Nokia how and where to move ahead with the line of upcoming smartphones.

UPDATE: Nokia has just denied all rumours which talks about sales delay of Nokia N8. “We have said we expect to ship the N8 by the end of the third quarter and that hasn’t changed,” an AFP report quoted Nokia spokesman Doug Dawson as saying.  He said that the misunderstanding has arisen from the fact that Nokia’s marketing department informed customers who pre-ordered the phone that they should expect them in October.
