Today Google has finally announced the acquisition of Metaweb, a semantic web and a real world database company. With this acquisition Google is targeting to produce filtered and intelligent search results to its users across the world. Metaweb, a content database management company, helps site owners, bloggers and developers make their sites richer and more intelligent. Based in San Francisco, Metaweb Technologies was founded in 2005 to help build a smarter, more connected Internet. Since then, we have been building the platform and populating the data for our content integration network, which enables site owners, publishers and developers to easily and intelligently add content from across the Web.

With growing competition and constant efforts from other search engines like Bing, Altavista, Google is working on its search methodology from some time. With acquisition of Metaweb visitors would be furnished with much more sensible and relevant content which in turn will give an extra mile. Since Internet has grown by multi million folds in last few years, its very ery difficult to have proper information database scan based on any search criteria. There are many brands, words and companies which sounds similar but completely different while serving to customers. This way Google will help and produce only this contents which can be useful subject to your requirements.

Do let us know what do you think about Google’s acquisition of Metaweb. Will it be success or fall flat at the time of competition ?
